Rebecca Gerrard

Rebecca Gerrard, Acting Transfusion Liaison Nurse Manager, NHS Blood and Transfusion, UK. She was educated between 1985–1990 at the University of Liverpool, B.Sc. Hons. Microbiology 2.1 and Registered General Nurse. Today she is the manager of a national team of nurse specialists across England and North Wales and a member of ‘Appropriate Use of Blood Sub-Group’, former member of ‘Serious Hazards of Transfusion (SHOT) Standing Working Group’ and ‘Operational Impact Sub-Group for Incident Reporting’. She was also seconded to SHOT for 1 day a week from Nov 2004 to May 2006 to raise the profile of SHOT and strengthen the link between SHOT and hospitals.
